Back On Track

I know it has been a while since we have posted and yes we are still up and running!

For the last twelve months we have been on go slow as I (Suzanne) am dealing with Breast Cancer. We are still accepting donations and working on quilts just a little more slowly for the time being.

I must say that Sew Generous has been receiving lots of wonderful emails and enquires about our very little Online Quilting Bee and what we do here, and it is wonderful to see so many generous quilters out there wanting to help out.
Please, if you have an orphan blocks, quilts tops, leftover backing fabric, batting or binding strips that you don’t know what to do with but want to put to good use, we would love to have them.
We have completed six quilts and they have been delivered to Westmead Children’s Hospital. Yay!

It was a bit of a cold and rainy day but we packed up all the quilts we had completed and drove to Westmead to drop them off.

Now due to privacy polices we could only take a photo of the quilts sitting on the reception desk. But there they are. I will be doing a single post per quilt so that you can see each and every quilt that is donated and the contributors can see where their donations are going too!

Of course while at the Children’s Hospital we HAD to visit Starbucks! Who can pass up a Caramel Macchiato not me and currently not Effie! Oh and they have the most delicious Raspberry and White Chocolate Muffins, so that was also added to the order.

So, our first quilt delivery for 2013, it is very exciting and we look forward to delivering more in the near future.

Hello, I'm from a patchwork group at Gosford and we are wanting to donate quilts we have completed. We heard of “Quilts for Keeps” at Westmead Children's Hospital and did send down some quilts back in 2011, but then heard they wound up in April 2012. I was really happy to see you have delivered some quilts just recently to the hospital and wonder if you could advise who we need to speak to there about our group providing quilts, or perhaps you can help us with our enquiry? I hope your own recovery is going very well. Regards, Pamela M “Wholly Quilts” Gosford Uniting Church. Email:
